UP University Alliance is a powerful vehicle to elevate academic excellence and social impact, rooted in the shared commitment to Responsible Living for the Next Generation. This shapes our active involvement in embedding European values—such as sustainability, inclusion, and civic responsibility—into our programmes.

In times of geopolitical and socio-economic challenges, our goal in education should be to provide stability while inspiring our students, professors, and staff to remain excited about the future. We want them to be curious, open-minded, and optimistic.

UP University allows us to foster this stability through a network of trusted, longstanding partners and friends—united in their commitment to shaping change and designing responsible solutions for future generations.

Through the collaboration at bachelor level and the creation of joint master’s degrees, we aim to offer students transnational learning paths that combine the strengths of all partner institutions.

At the doctoral level, we are working to foster early-career research collaboration through co-supervision, joint seminars and researcher mobility leading to joint projects, cultivating a vibrant, cross-border scholarly community.

Our research, academic and administrative staff will also benefit from dynamic exchanges and shared professional development through the UP Academy, reinforcing collaboration and the exchange of good practices.

Finally, aligned with the European Commission’s Union of Skills initiative, we are committed to promoting flexible learning via micro-credentials that complement and intertwine formal programmes and support lifelong learning.

Together, these elements form a truly self-sustained European university—innovative, inclusive, and anchored in our collective responsibility toward future generations.

This roots us deeply in the European Union, shaping European identity and European cohesion. Our Alliance also brings us one step ahead to the European Degree, new funding opportunities etc.

European Citizenship

• Connecting Europe – all European regions are represented within UP University, which provides easy access to close partner institutions all over Europe to each Higher Education Institution.

• This strong European connection facilitates the diversity in multicultural and multilingual perspectives to all initiatives.

• The consortium works on European challenges and solutions based on the European policy agenda and therefore fits into the bigger European framework and priorities set by the European Commission. Being part of a European University Alliance strengthens the individual institutions.
