TEACHERS AND RESEARCH

The research activity is one of the main activities at DOBA Business School and is the driving force behind the school’s international cooperation and networking.
The foundations of scientific and research work at DOBA Business School focus on project applications and implementation of national and international research and development projects, on the development of new programmes, the organisation of scientific and professional events, publication and dissemination of research results, the establishing of connections with the economy, and the inclusion of students in the school’s scientific and research work.
With the systematic development of research activities, the school nurtures the creation of new knowledge and its transfer to students, it strengthens its research references and the school’s recognition and reputation in the Slovenian and international arena.

Business Institute

The scientific, research, and professional work at the school is formalised within the Business Institute with the registered group of researchers and a narrower research group. The Business Institute, which was entered in the records of research organisations on 3 March 2005 and is an independent unit of DOBA Business School, was established so as to bring together theory and practice, as modern higher education requires a close connection to practice and has to be supported by research work.

International and national projects

DOBA Business School regularly applies to and implements national and international research and development projects.

List of projects

Journal of Innovative Business and Management

DOBA Business School publishes the e-Journal of Innovative Business and Management The journal presents original ideas, experience, and findings of national and international experts, theorists, and practising experts while also offering diverse views on the challenges of the modern society. The editor-in-chief is Full Professor Dr Rasto Ovin.

Conferences and symposia

Every year, DOBA Business School organises topical scientific and professional conferences for its students and the broader public, which host prominent experts and scientists from Slovenia and abroad.

Including STUDENTS in scientific and research work

DOBA Business School includes undergraduate and postgraduate students in scientific and research work in the context of studies prepared by academics and in the context of research topics offered by the school. Under the supervision of academics, students are also included in the work of the research group with their master’s theses.

Cooperation with companies

To a large extent, the inclusion of students in the research and professional work at DOBA Business School encompasses projects for the economy or the students’ work environment. As the majority of our students are employed, we encourage their project assignments, seminar papers, and final papers to be prepared as applicable projects for organisations where they are employed. This allows students to transfer the knowledge that they obtained during their studies into practice.

Participation in tenders

The students also prepare applicative assignments and research projects in companies in which they are employed and in other organisations. DOBA Business School encourages students to prepare such assignments and projects. The best student projects are presented at events organised at DOBA Business School and beyond. Many of them receive awards and recognitions.
