DOBA University of Applied Sciences

DOBA University of Applied Sciences is designed for ambitious individuals who consciously, responsibly, and strategically develop their careers over the long term. With a comprehensive portfolio of bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral study programmes, it provides education at all levels of higher education, focusing on academic depth, career advancement, and an international perspective.

DOBA University of Applied Sciences Maribor is an accredited independent higher education institution. It was established on 5 December 2003 by a decision of the Council of the Republic of Slovenia for Higher Education as DOBA Business School Maribor. Following confirmation by the Senate for Accreditation at the Council of the Republic of Slovenia for Higher Education, the institution was transformed into DOBA University of Applied Sciences on 18 December 2009. The university is part of the DOBA Business Group.

In 2005, the university began delivering its first professional higher education programmes. Master’s programmes were introduced in 2008, followed by the doctoral programme in 2019, thereby completing the full vertical structure of higher education.

The study programmes are based on an interdisciplinary approach, practical orientation, and strong collaboration with industry and society. Their conceptual design reflects contemporary development trends, international standards, and the needs of the modern work environment, with a particular emphasis on developing professional and leadership competencies.

DOBA University of Applied Sciences implements modern, digitally supported forms of study that require a high level of independence, responsibility, and active engagement from students. The university is actively integrated into the European and global higher education area, regularly organizes scientific and professional events, and offers lifelong learning programmes.
