DOBA University of Applied Sciences is one of the 10 partners of UP University, an alliance of ten European universities and 31 associated partners strategically located in medium-sized European cities that are not capitals. The consortium covers all four corners of Europe and brings together a broad but complementary range of expertise, enabling it to operate effectively to achieve the desired impact across Europe. It works towards the vision of becoming a recognized inter-university campus by 2035. With its activities firmly rooted in regional ecosystems, UP University is dedicated to promoting responsible living for future generations.

The project proposal, submitted by the partners under the coordination of Artevelde University of Applied Sciences to the Erasmus+ European Universities 2024 call, focuses on common regional challenges in the areas of health and well-being, sustainable communities, and responsible production and consumption, linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals 3, 11, and 12 set for 2030. With its diverse expertise and strong regional connections, it provides innovative solutions tailored to the specific needs of each region. UP University offers a wide range of educational programs and trainings available in 14 languages. This enables students from around the world to easily engage in international study pathways, acquire knowledge, and develop competencies relevant to the global labor market.

UP University strives for a comprehensive transformation of the educational space. Its goal is to create an integrated joint educational offering where students will develop future-oriented competences and sustainable life practices. It promotes so-called science with and for society and collaborates with regional stakeholders in co-creating solutions and strengthening positive sustainable impacts.

Within the alliance, we recognize the importance of inclusive and sustainable action. The initiative provides green and inclusive mobilities and promotes active citizenship, thus generating a social impact and connection. It develops a model of sustainable collaboration to strengthen its role as an advocate of responsible living in Europe and beyond. Through its work, it contributes to a more sustainable and fairer future, positioning itself among key players in the modern higher education space with its consortium-based model of collaboration and focus on addressing challenges.
