October Meeting of UP University Representatives in Italy

In Novara, Italy, between 8 and 10 October 2025, the regular meeting of representatives of the European university UP University took place. This alliance of European universities and universities of applied sciences strives to realise a shared European vision and to develop innovative solutions for a sustainable future. DOBA University of Applied Sciences is part of this visionary consortium.

The autumn meeting was dedicated to discussing joint research and educational projects and how, through these, we can respond to the broader needs and priorities of the European Higher Education Area and the regions from which the consortium members come. In various working groups, we planned the next steps in implementing the shared mission of the alliance Responsible Living for the Next Generations.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Project Office and International Cooperation, Mateja Geder, who is also a member of the working group for community engagement within the community of practice of European universities FOREU4ALL.

The meeting once again demonstrated the importance of the power of personal connections, which enable the exchange of knowledge, experience, and ideas. The spirit of UP University, characterised by a strong, stable, and sustainability-oriented partnership, is best captured by the words of Ovid: »A drop hollows out a stone not by force, but by persistence.«
