Cooperation Between DOBA Business School Students and Durham College Students from Canada Successfully Completed

The international virtual mobility with Durham College from Canada, which was a part of the curriculum of the master’s course in Business Forecasting and Sustainable Development Strategy, has been successfully completed.

In the master’s course in Business Forecasting and Sustainable Development Strategy, DOBA Business School students prepared their project assignment in cooperation with students of Durham College, Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.

All students have successfully prepared their research reports and very interesting presentations, thus successfully completing four weeks of intensive work and cooperation on the challenges of sustainable development in six industries (textiles, tourism, energy, agriculture, construction, and chemistry) and 24 companies. They were monitored and guided in their work by Professor Brad Niblett and Professor Rogier Ten Kate from Durham College and Assistant Professor Dr Marina Letonja and mag. Zineta Vilman from DOBA Business School. The successfully completed project is yet another example of excellent internationalisation at DOBA Business School.

The research has shown that companies are committed to a sustainable transformation of their business practices and that they integrate sustainable goals into their business strategies and policies without exception, with environmental and measurable objectives prevailing, such as management of water, use of renewable energy sources, reduction of CO2 emissions, and responsible waste management.

The virtual mobility project is the result of careful planning, coordination, flexibility, and preparedness for the challenges that such projects undoubtedly bring. Even though all involved in this cooperation faced challenges such as the management of international teams in an intercultural environment and the management and coordination of time differences and language barriers, the project has been exceptionally successful, judging from the video statements of the participants:
