Assoc. Prof. Dr. Miha Lavrič teaches the course Artificial Intelligence in Digital Management at DOBA Faculty and contributes to the development of study programs that integrate AI. He has over 20 years of experience in research and teaching. His work bridges innovative projects across the fields of (micro)biology, (immuno)genetics, applied data science, explainable AI, and augmented reality. At the University of Maribor, he is currently involved in national and international research projects examining the impact of environmental pollution (water, air, food sources) on human health, as well as the impact of human activity on the environment (pollution, loss of biodiversity).
He places a strong emphasis on awareness-raising and education, connecting science, technology, and practice to contribute to sustainable development and the future of society through modern learning approaches and innovation.
Artificial intelligence is no longer a vision of the future – it is already transforming how we live, work, and learn.
Its true power lies not in replacing humans, but in complementing them.
In the panel 'What Will the Profile of Future Students Be?', Dr. Lavrič will discuss how AI can support the development of personalized, inclusive, and future-oriented learning environments. Drawing from his experience in academia, research projects, and industrial innovation, he will explore how AI enables better decision-making, adaptable learning paths, and new forms of collaboration between students, teachers, and companies.
He will also address the ethical, cultural, and human dimensions of AI implementation, with the goal of co-creating learning that strengthens both competence and humanity.
