Call for Abstracts

We cordially invite you to participate in the 12th International Scientific Conference 'Psychology in Business World' at DOBA Business School, Maribor, Slovenia.

DOBA Business School 2024 scientific conference Psychology in Business World will focus on the role and the application of Psychology in Business context, with focus on Coaching psychology, Positive psychology, Leadership, Consumer Behaviour and Innovation in organisations.

DOBA Business School provides an interdisciplinary platform for all participants to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges and solutions business psychology. The conference is an opportunity to promote and strengthen further colaborations, knowledge exchange and networking of researchers from different countries, different research fields and different levels of scientific and research careers that are interested in psychology. As DOBA Business School is one of the leading regional centres in the EU, developing modern online study practices, the conference will also promote the value and innovation of distance learning.

The conference theme 'Psychology in Business World' reflects the mission of DOBA Business School and includes the following five content streams for the conference:

  1. Positive psychology in business, education, and social sector
  2. Coaching psychology in business
  3. Leadership and development of leadership skills
  4. Financial psychology, behavioural economics and consumer behaviour
  5. Facilitating innovation and creativity in organisations

Researchers, lecturers, practitioners, professionals, entrepreneurs, and students are invited to submit abstracts for individual oral presenations, symposia and posters on the conference theme, 'Psychology in Business World':

Dates for submitting anonymous papers and panels for peer review:

Deadline for abstracts: August 30th 2024
Feedback on abstracts: September 15th 2024
Deadline for full papers: September 30th 2024

All abstracts and papers must be submitted in English.

Authors are invited to submit abstracts of no more than 500 words on one or more of the thematic areas indicated above. The suggested headings to structure the abstract are the following:

  • Research aims and research question (if there is one):  what is/are the reason(s) for writing the abstract or the aims of the research? Summarize the purpose and the rationale of your research/paper.
  • Introduction and literature review: place your work in the context with the existing body of knowledge.
  • Design/Methodology/Approach:  how are the objectives achieved? Define the main method used for collecting the data including the sample size, and state the rationale for using this method.
  • Findings/Results and conclusions: what was found in the course of the work (refer to the analysis, discussion or results). Summarize the answers to the research questions while also outlining the implications of the results. 
  • Research limitations/implications (if applicable): summarize the limitations of the study and offer suggestions for future research.
  • Practical and/or social implications (if applicable): offer the potential implications both for practice and society. What outcomes and implications for the practice, applications and consequences are identified? What will be the impact of your research on society, how will it influence the public attitudes, corporate behaviour etc.? Not all papers will have practical or social implications, but most will.
  • Originality/value: what is new in the paper and who is it for? State the value of the paper.
  • Keywords: 3 to 5 keywords that highlight your research/paper.
    A list of literature (references) is not to be included into the word count.

Decisions to accept an abstract with an invitation to prepare the full paper will be announced by August 30th 2024.

Full papers of no more than 40,000 characters, including spaces, will be due by September 30th 2024. Guidelines and the template for full papers are available here:
