DOBA Higher Vocational College Receives the Highest Professional Award for Excellence

DOBA Higher Vocational College (shorter DOBA College, in Slovenian Višja strokovna šola DOBA or VSŠ) has received the Diploma of Excellence of Skupnost višjih strokovnih šol Republike Slovenije (Diploma of Excellence of the Association of Higher Vocational Colleges of the Republic of Slovenia) – the highest professional recognition for quality and excellence in the operation of higher vocational colleges in Slovenia. The award confirms the school’s long-term commitment to systematic quality improvement, the development of modern educational approaches, and the achievement of above-average results across all areas of operation. The diploma was accepted at the end of January 2026 at the 15th Conference on Quality in Higher Vocational Education by Tjaša Burja, Principal of DOBA College, and Nataša Robič, Adviser and Coordinator of Practical Training.

During the evaluation process, the assessors highlighted several examples of excellence at DOBA College:

• Exemplary and visionary leadership, personally committed to quality and excellence. The personal approach of the management stands out, along with its commitment to high-quality work, achieving set goals, and strong cooperation with economic and non-economic organisations at home and abroad.
• Systematic evaluations of all stakeholders, including annual individual interviews with employees and external lecturers. Measures adopted based on the results deliver positive outcomes across all study programmes and place DOBA College among the leading educational institutions in Slovenia.
• Excellent active cooperation with educational institutions, organisations, businesses and associations. DOBA College cooperates exemplary with more than 123 economic and non-economic organisations in Slovenia and abroad, ensuring high-quality practical training, competence development and strong graduate employability.
• Graduates achieve above-average employability, and the satisfaction of graduates and employers with their knowledge is rated as very high.
• Strong evaluation results and high student satisfaction with lecturers and the school management.
• International comparability of study programmes, content and evaluation procedures, as well as alignment with modern trends and digital technologies.

Receiving the Diploma of Excellence from the Association of Higher Vocational Colleges represents an important confirmation of the successful development of DOBA College and at the same time a strong incentive to continue work in the areas of quality, innovation and cooperation with the wider environment.
