Dr Karolina Babič Among the Recipients of the "Women on Women 2026" Award

On Thursday, 5 March 2026, the 'Women on Women 2026' (​​​Ženske o ženskah 2026) awards ceremony took place in Ljubljana. The awards are presented by the Mesto žensk (City of Women) Association as recognition for individuals and collectives for their significant contribution to social change, feminist thought and public engagement. This year, the awards were presented for the seventh time, and the recipients were selected from more than 69 nominations submitted this year and more than 400 nominations overall, as these are preserved over the years.

Among this year’s award recipients is our higher education lecturer, Associate Professor Dr Karolina Babič, Doctor of Philosophy, researcher and consultant in the field of social and solidarity economy. She received the award for her many years of work at the intersection of research, education and the practical development of alternative socio-economic models.

Other recipients this year included Katja Zakrajšek, the Working Committee for Feminism Iskra, Tanja Velagić and Anuška Podvršič, while a posthumous recognition was also awarded to Zofka Kveder.

The 'Women on Women 2026' award highlights the importance of the work of individuals and collectives who make a significant contribution to social change. We sincerely congratulate Dr Karolina Babič on receiving the award and also extend our congratulations to the other recipients honoured this year.
