DOBA University of Applied Sciences Opened a Space for Discussion on Artificial Intelligence in Management

On 12 March 2026, DOBA University of Applied Sciences once again opened a space for professional dialogue on the current challenges of modern management with the round table “When Technology Meets Leadership: Artificial Intelligence in Management Practice”, bringing together experts, leaders and organisations that are actively shaping the future of work.

The event was attended by 209 participants, with the participant structure being distinctly cross-sectoral. The discussion was followed by representatives of the business sector, public sector, education, healthcare and non-governmental organisations, with a large proportion consisting of decision-makers and leaders who are already facing the challenges of introducing artificial intelligence into organisations in practice.

Knowledge and experience were shared by renowned experts Aleš Štempihar, Iztok Renčelj and Dr Miha Lavrič, while the round table was moderated by Dr Gorazd Justinek, Dean of DOBA University of Applied Sciences.

The discussion showed that artificial intelligence is no longer merely a technological trend, but is becoming a strategic issue for organisational leadership. The speakers emphasised that organisations are currently in a transitional phase – moving from experimenting with AI solutions to their systematic and thoughtful integration into business processes.

Among the key highlights of the discussion were:

  • AI as a strategic business initiative of leadership, as successful implementation requires clear support and direction from organisational leadership.

  • Clearly defined goals and processes, which are a prerequisite for the successful introduction of artificial intelligence in organisations.

  • A shift from pilot projects to systematic implementation, which will enable a greater business impact of AI solutions.

  • Collaboration between experienced employees and an AI-oriented younger generation, where organisational knowledge and new digital competences come together.

  • The development of new competences and an organisational culture that supports learning, adaptation and innovation.

The speakers agreed that artificial intelligence will significantly influence decision-making, work organisation and the development of employee competences in the coming years. The key question for organisations is therefore no longer whether to introduce artificial intelligence, but how to integrate it strategically and responsibly into business practice.
