DOBA Business School Student Developed a New Application, Whendly

The practical nature of study programmes at DOBA Business School is one of the main advantages of online learning at DOBA. As much as 70% of each course focus on solving concrete business challenges or on preparing applicative projects.

Last year, DOBA student, Tom Šfiligoj, who was at the time enrolled in the third year of bachelor studies, proposed an innovative idea in the context of a team assignment in the Innovation and Innovative Management course – an app for searching for a sports partner. He prepared a detailed description, specifications, and a marketing and sales plan for the new mobile app. The time spent in lockdown was spent well and with his family who helped him realise the idea, which finally saw the light of day on Friday, 18 September 2020.

Whendly’s mission is simple – help people lead a healthy and sporty life. The application allows you to:

  • Find a sports partner who will motivate you when you get stuck
  • Publish fun sporting challenges for other Whendly users
  • Lead a healthy and sporty life

“I loved the idea while the seminar paper was being developed at DOBA Business School. When I saw that Tom and the team actually brought it to life, I was thrilled and gladly recommend it to others. When my career ended, I realised how important it was to lead an active life outside the judo arena. In today’s times, a healthy lifestyle has been given a completely new meaning; however, we often lack the energy or the right company. I hope that Whendly helps people find partners and motivates them to do something good for themselves. If nothing else, they can be motivated by the challenges posed by other users,” says Urška Žolnir, Olympic Gold Medallist and DOBA Business School graduate, recommending the application.
