DOBA Business School Partner in the BASE Project

DOBA Business School is a partner in the four-year BASE project, which will focus on strengthening skills of the social economy and its human capital in key areas such as digital and green transitions, where social economy companies and organisations are already achieving significant added value.

Full name of the project: Blueprint for social economy and proximity skills and advanced training schemes adaptable to diverse social economy ecosystem in Europe

Along with the lead partner, Mondragon GOI Eskola Politeknikoa Jose Maria Arizmendiarietta (MGEP) from Spain, there are 29 other partner institutions (including 10 higher education institutions) from Belgium, Germany, France, Ireland, Poland, Greece, Portugal, the Netherlands, Estonia, Romania and Italy involved in the project.

Notable partners include Social Economy Europe, as the voice of 2.8 million social enterprises and organisations in Europe, bringing together 18 of the largest social economy networks in Europe, Mondragon Corporation, the world’s largest workers’ cooperative, and Diesis Network.

The BASE project aims to analyse skills gaps and mismatches to make employees and employers more resilient/prepared for unexpected challenges. The project will develop a set of emerging occupational profiles and design competence-based curricula (focus on entrepreneurial skills – for resilience in times of crisis and managing social enterprises to effectively cope with crisis) for traditional, soft and new skills. The curricula will be further adapted to national/regional contexts to ensure that learning outcomes are relevant to their requirements.

Furthermore, the BASE project includes the testing of training programmes that will be delivered as modular, flexible and accessible learning content, taking into account previously acquired skills.

The BASE approach focuses on maximising impact and sustainability:

  • SocioComp integrates transversal skills: digital skills, green skills and collaboration;
  • achieving effect and enhancing project impact through proper coordination at different levels;
  • highlighting the strength of cross-sectorial alliances through the model proposed and implemented by the BASE project;
  • ensuring interconnectivity at EU level and sharing common definitions, knowledge and practices.

The BASE project will aim to change stereotypes and public perceptions of careers in the social economy sector, focusing on its potential, future prospects and capacity for growth and self-fulfilment through the use of innovative methodologies and technologies.

The project will include sectorial and cross-sectorial activities with the wider socio-economic environment (research, design of basic curricula and occupational profiles with adaptation to national/regional contexts, implementation of pilot trainings (content and teaching methods).
