Working Across Borders: international virtual mobility and challenges for Barry Callebaut

We are exceptionally pleased and proud to be a part of the Working Across Borders (WAB 2023) international virtual mobility project for the fourth consecutive year, working with partners from nine countries: Belgium, the Netherlands, Finland, South Africa, Ecuador, Indonesia, the USA, Canada and, of course, Slovenia. This very interesting two-month project brought together more than 600 students from the participating educational institutions.

Ten DOBA Business School students have passed the test and have been selected to join international teams that will design sustainable business solutions for the world-renowned Barry Callebaut, a leading manufacturer of premium chocolates and cocoa products. Upon successful completion of the project, students will have the opportunity to have their achievements recognised as a part of their grades in selected courses in both undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

The global kick-off showed how global learning is setting new standards. The event, which was attended live by more than 500 students, professors and mentors, took place on 10 October and was led by a team from Durham College in Canada and Binus University in Indonesia. It was an opportunity for all of us to learn together how borders cannot stop the desire to learn and collaborate. Together, we have entered into the world of 2nd generation chocolate and will push the boundaries of knowledge and innovation.
