At DOBA University of Applied Sciences, we live innovation through 'Ideas that See Further'. Our innovation policy is closely linked to fostering and developing the creative potential of our staff, as we believe that it is the proactivity of our employees that sets the standards for modern education. Through continuous improvement of services, encouraging innovative thinking, and focusing on sustainable growth, we are building a competitive and advanced educational environment together.
Within the collective, we constantly gather improvement proposals, as we believe that the best solutions come from the first hand. This January, at our annual staff meeting, we presented awards to colleagues who, with their ideas and achievements in 2025, made a special impact.
Last year, we received as many as 860 proposals for improvements. The special award for the most proposals submitted in 2025 was presented to Nina Turčin, Academic Advisor and Erasmus Coordinator.
The award for the Most Innovative Proposal of 2025 was presented to teacher Dr. Marina Letonja, for introducing educational games into the teaching process (gamification). Gamification as an innovative pedagogical approach was recognized as the innovation of the year, as it effectively addresses key challenges of online studies: interactivity, student motivation, and engagement. The solution that Dr. Letonja successfully introduced into the study process as part of the project has been recognised as a good practice example and is systematically being developed in new projects as part of the strategic development of modern online studies.
We also presented 'mini awards' for achievements that have significantly contributed to the reputation and quality of our work:
By awarding these recognitions, we not only reward past achievements but also strengthen the vision of our organisation that values knowledge, innovation, and the commitment of its employees. Congratulations to all the awardees and to the employees who create and submit innovative ideas throughout the year!
