DOBA University of Applied Sciences' professor Dr Martina Plantak participated as a panelist at this year's edition of the Psihošpancir – International Conference of Psychology and Psychotherapy, which took place between 17 and 19 October 2025. This is one of the most important professional events in the region, bringing together psychologists, psychotherapists, educators, and researchers from various European institutions. The conference was held at University North (Univerza Sjever) in Varaždin.
At the opening panel entitled “Learning Through the Healing Process: A Scientific Approach to Project COPE and Trauma-Informed Education in a Non-Formal Context”, the European initiative Project COPE was presented, which addresses working with vulnerable and traumatized individuals and promotes the development of trauma-informed approaches in non-formal and lifelong education.
The panel raised important questions about the role of educational institutions, the recognition of trauma, and support for participants in the learning process. With her pedagogical and academic experience, Dr Plantak contributed valuable insights into the importance of high-quality, empathetic, and flexible education.
Participation in such an event confirms the importance of involving higher education teachers in international discussions and strengthens networking and the transfer of good practices in education.
